Product Description

Steve Harvey, the host of the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show, can't count the number of impressive women he's met over the years, whether it's through the "Strawberry Letters" segment of his program or while on tour for his comedy shows. These are women who can run a small business, keep a household with three kids in tiptop shape, and chair a church group all at the same time. Yet when it comes to relationships, they can't figure out what makes men tick. Why? According to Steve it's because they're asking other women for advice when no one but another man can tell them how to find and keep a man. In Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, Steve lets women inside the mindset of a man and sheds lights on concepts and questions such as:

—The Ninety Day Rule: Ford requires it of its employees. Should you require it of your man?

—How to spot a mama's boy and what if anything you can do about it.

—When to introduce the kids. And what to read into the first interaction between your date and your kids.

—The five questions every woman should ask a man to determine how serious he is.

— And more...

Sometimes funny, sometimes direct, but always truthful, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man is a book you must read if you want to understand how men think when it comes to relationships.

4 out of 5 stars An interesting read   September 1, 2010

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews regarding this book. I thought it had a lot of information that we women probably already knew but don't want to admit. Steve mentions that men aren't ready for serious commitments until they figure out who they are and want to be in life. I've come across a lot of men who say pretty much the same thing...they're not ready for kids or marriage until they are able to provide for a family. Until then a serious relationship probably isn't top priority. That is not to say that a couple can't build together from the ground up but think about it...how many couples do you know who have been able to do so successfully? I think we women want to be there when our men make it to the top just to say we had a hand in his success. The one thing that resonates with me is that women do have the power to choose who they want to be with and should not be afraid to asks questions or walk away from something that is clearly not going anywhere. Too often we ignore the little signs or shy away from serious questions all in the name of keeping a man. Often times we just end up waiting around and before you know it we invest years in a relationship that ends up going nowhere.

I didn't give the book 5 stars because I didn't find the random questions at the back very insightful. I can't believe that these women had a chance to ask any burning question on relationships and they came up with questions such as what do men think about weaves and plastic surgery. But I guess if that's what they really want to know....to each his own.

I purchased this book after hearing all the discussion about how interesting the book was. I must say, the book is a good read and kudos to Steve for trying to hip the ladies on something that their parents should have already taught them!!!!
