Jane and Hugh November 7, 2008 T. Patterson (usa) Hugh has loved Jane for 10 years but his family curse forced him to leave her or give in to the intense feelings and risk her life. Now, as an assassin for the Crown, he still hungers for her. When he receives a message from her father that she is in danger he wastes no time rushing to her aide. When he finds her all the longings from 10 years ago come back, but this time he must fight it because he is the only one who can protect her from another assassin gone bad. In order to protect her he must take her away from everyone so he decides to hide her in his brothers home...but his brother is not there and they are alone. Can Hugh keep himself from the one woman his heart has always desired in order to keep her safe? Or will the intense feelings give way to the fight of their life? br / br /***I am a huge fan of Kresley Cole's and despite this being a highland novel (I am not particularly fond of highland novels) this was a great read. I would recommend this book to romance/erotica fans and I am really looking forward to Ethan's story. br / br /Kudos Kresley, you did well with this highland tale.
Weak link in the series October 29, 2008 DW (Northern California) This book could have been good, but it wasn't. I think the main problem was the hero, Hugh. I loved him in 'If You Dare' and 'If You Deceive', but in his own story, I felt like slapping him for his foolishness just like the heroine did. Speaking of the heroine...she was hard to like as well. She led such a shallow existance, with very few redeeming qualities. br / br /I would recommend the book simply to connect the two stronger books (which I loved!) in the series.
Excellent Follow Up! Steamy and Interesting September 1, 2008 S. L. Davis (Watson, LA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This series is sooooooo good. After many historical romances you sort of get to the point where the romance scene don't "get to you" so much anymore...well...the chemistry between Hugh and Jane is so intense and the scenes between them are positively erotic. Because Hugh and Jane have known each other since childhood the unrequited passion between them is sizzling. This second book in the MacCarrick Brothers series is even better than the first. I'm buying the third one, If You Deceive tomorrow!
I do desire July 16, 2008 Heather Ray (San Diego, CA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hugh Jane both love each other secretly (at least it's a secret from one another) but Hugh stays away from the only woman he ever loved because of a family curse. To protect her, he stays away until ten years have passed Jane's life is at risk. br / br /One of my absolute favorite books. It's filled with angst. Kresley Cole is a must-read author.
Hooked by Kresley Cole! May 14, 2008 joonbuds (Dayton, OH) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently discovered Kresley Cole and I just love her writing. I'm not going to bother with a summary of the book, but this whole trilogy is a fun read! Cole develops great characters, provides entertaining dialogue, and keeps the plot running for a "can't put it down" experience. I also love her Immortals After Dark series as well! I'm looking forward to her next books. \(^.^)/
