Product Description For a wide variety of graduate or undergraduate research courses. Written in uncommonly engaging and elegant prose, this text is a "do-it-yourself, understand-it-yourself" manual designed to help research students in any discipline understand the fundamental structure of quality research and the methodical process that leads to genuinely significant results. It guides the reader, step-by-step, from the selection of a problem, through the process of conducting authentic research, to the preparation of a completed report, with practical suggestions based on a solid theoretical framework and sound pedagogy. Suited for the core text in any introductory research course or even for self-instruction, this text will show students two things: 1) that quality research demands planning and design; and, 2) how their own research projects can be executed effectively and professionally.

Research Writing December 23, 2008 Rheadawn Brown (Smyrna, TN USA) This is a good tool for research writing; however, the newer edition has some newer tips for Internet-based research that isn't mentioned in-depth in this edition.
Great book! October 6, 2008 Joshua (phila, pa United States) Great book...full of information which is easily organized and easy to read if you're interested in this good information.
Disappointed upon receipt September 21, 2008 M. Chan It's supposed to be a new item, but the book was wrinkled with a few wears on the binding.
Fantastic August 27, 2008 B. Anderson (Melbourne, Vic, Australia) An absolute must for anyone who is getting started for the first time on writing a thesis or completing a major project. It breaks down the research process into manageable steps and explains them in plain language. It is targeted at the first time researcher but is also a valuable reference at later stages of the research and reporting writing processes. It has made researching my own project a whole less daunting.
Practical Research: Planning and Design May 15, 2008 Connie (North Carolina) A great book for a graduate student like me. It helps you how to pick a topic, have some questions concerning a topic, and make them into a research that is in your words. It is an excellent book for a beginning researcher, guiding him or her step by step, through the entire research process with practical suggestions. It is a great book if you want to have a quality research in any discipline. Good luck.
