Mom of happy 10 year old October 9, 2008 C. Lowe (Round Rock, TX) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son read the book and we also bought the clue cards. He has been having a lot of fun with it. He loves the Percy Jackson series so he wanted to read this book. He was not disappointed and is following the mystery on-line. His older sister who is 13 is also helping him and enjoying it as well.
Have not opened it yet. It is a Christmas gift for friend. October 7, 2008 Sharon L. Properzio 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
This item was purchased for a 7 yr old bright kid. It will be given to her at Christmas. I cannot give a review on something I don't know about YET.
Very Clever!! October 6, 2008 Joan Schmidt (Susanville, CA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
These are very nice cards. As a baseball card collector, I was very pleased to see the high quality and attention to detail that these cards offer. My son has has a ball examining the cards and entering them on line to play the game. Naturally, card collecting is addicting and these cards coupled with the book and game are a kid magnet. The box that the cards came in is fantastic - it protects the card and offers information on how to read the cards and enter them onto the web site. This is a very clever item and worth buying more than one set.
website does not work September 12, 2008 S. Suber 8 out of 17 found this review helpful
Don't bother buying the clue cards for this series, at this point anyway. My son tried creating an account with his cards the first day the book came out. The website is supposed to send you an email with a link to activate your account. We never received this email. We tried a second time to create an account the next day.... still no email. I sent them an email informing them of the problem.... still no email. I like the concept of the whole thing; however, they haven't been able to pull off the website game aspect of it. Hopefully, they'll get it to work soon. Is anyone else having this problem?
Mesmerizing game--good addition to the 3 stories! September 11, 2008 Scott C. Waring (Taiwan) 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
George's Pond: Created in the Beloved Tradition of Charlotte's Web West's Time Machine br / br /Being the author of West's Time Machine and George's Pond as well as an educator, I often recommend reading to my son and my students. This book mesmerized my students for hours so we had to purchase the game for the class. They kept quoting unusual things held within its pages. There were many amazing things on every card that allow the reader to try and solve the mysteries that it presented. Its loads of fun for all who dare play. Perfect for any age. br / br /My students love the fact that each new story by Gordon Korman and Peter Lerangis rewards real contestants big cash rewards for solving their mysteries. Involving the readers in the mysteries with this game made the stories and happiness they felt from reading them last so much longer. br / br /This was an exhilarating game for my classroom. br /
