Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Jen Lancaster was living the sweet life-until real life kicked her to the curb. brbr She had the perfect man, the perfect job-hell, she had the perfect life-and there was no reason to think it wouldn't last. Or maybe there was, but Jen Lancaster was too busy being manicured, pedicured, highlighted, and generally adored to notice. brbr This is the smart-mouthed, soul-searching story of a woman trying to figure out what happens next when she's gone from six figures to unemployment checks and she stops to reconsider some of the less-than-rosy attitudes and values she thought she'd never have to answer for when times were good. brbr Filled with caustic wit and unusual insight, it's a rollicking read as speedy and unpredictable as the trajectory of a burst balloon.

5 out of 5 stars Jen is my kind of bitch!   November 21, 2008
S. Sevin (Moon Township, PA USA)
This is what a memoir should be! Funny, touching, totally relatable (even if you don't wear pearls, own pit bulls, or live in trendy upscale rentals). I love that Jen is able to make her journey from six figure inflated salary-uber hard working republican-designer lable diva to scaled down-box wine drinking-dog loving-neighbor spying-republican without ever losing her sense of self or knowledge that most other people are stupid. The journey is fun and painful and such a good read that you can't put it down (except when I was laughing so hard that I had to look for kleenex for the tears streaming down my face!!) br / br /Jen, I so want to be your friend and swill trendy cocktails with you! br / br /All three of Jen's books are fabulous so start here knowing that there are more wonderful memoirs to come! Personally I like this and her third book the best, but they are all worth buying!

4 out of 5 stars Kindle Edition Blows   November 17, 2008
Megan Murphy Schwab (hamilton, nj USA)
I hate it that the footnotes don't show up in the Kindle edition. I kind of feel like I got half a book with them being left out! br /

5 out of 5 stars Fun read!   November 14, 2008
Karrie A. Hogle (western NY)
An easy, fun read. What a sassy book! I loved it and am reading her next one!

5 out of 5 stars LOL!!   November 4, 2008

Jen Lancaster is one of the most hilarious chick lit authors I have come across so far. This is the first in a series of books which she has written which will keep you laughing from start to finish!

3 out of 5 stars Self-centered is right!   October 29, 2008
M. Brown
This book is very funny, but I this author really does love herself! The book is a bit of a run-on in terms of the message, and you can skip a chunk of it without getting confused. It's cute, but I've read better books in this genre.
