Gerry Sylvester has taken a special time in her life and shared it with the world. The combination of this beautiful, quiet island, friends from around the world, and dozens of special stories to share makes a great presentation of what it's actually like to be an innkeeper - joys and stresses. No one seems better suited for the job. It is obvious from reading this book that Gerry and Bob were not only successful in their endeavor as innkeepers, but they also managed to extend their own family by the hundreds simply by being the kind loving people that they are.

What a wonderful description of life in Paradise! This book takes up where Windy Hill left off, describing how this "gutsy" couple did it again. Gerry and Bob created a delightful little Inn on a tiny island Paradise, where one could go and sit comfortably with "Family," enjoying the fantastic view and an ice cold drink served by great people, and let one's problems drift away. It brings back priceless memories of the fun times, beautiful sunsets, great parties, at the same time depicting the many problems they encountered due to being on a small island in a third world country. If you have been to Guana, you will appreciate the memories, and, if you haven't, you will want to book your flight.

I thoroughly enjoyed finally knowing the end, middle or beginning of one of Gerry's escapades! It was nice to finally be able to put it together! It brought back some really wonderful memories. So, if you think you want to live on an island, in a 3rd world country, here is what you will get! Friendships, love, sorrow, good times, scary times, but always with people you have chosen as part of your "family". Thank you, thank you, thank you Gerry and Bob. It was a wonderful and memorable chapter of my life.

I am trying to slog through this tedious book that is all over the place. What kills me are the major typos glaring at me in the chapter titles - Is the In running us? Immigartion? Yikes, did you ever hear of spell check? And frankly, if Bob and Gerry came to my island and started to try to teach me what they consider proper grammar (yuh, Gerry, take a look at your own sentence structure first!) by SCREAMING at me, Gerry's own words by the way, I would have them deported. I probably won't finish and swear I will never buy a vanity published book again.

Mrs. Sylvester has written a journal that would interest no one except the author. She's vindictive and gossipy and tells many untruths. She lives partime on a lovely little island that deserves better press than she is willing to give. I mistakenly checked one star when the book deserves none.
