I purchased this book for a class I take in operating system in local college. I like most about this book is the flow of information and the relative clear view about the subjects discussed. It is easy to read and to follow. br / br /In addition, there are the slides that accompany the text and can be used in a classroom or as an overview of the material. br /

Although I had to buy this book for a class, I do enjoy reading it. The book stays current by focusing on modern multi-core processors, and relating most concepts to Linux, Windows, and Solaris (plus sometimes others) operating systems. It is fairly easy to read, and there are programming exercises at the end of each chapter to highlight concepts. This book will definitely get your feet wet when learning operating system concepts.

The only comment is that the cover is a bit damaged (the corners) everything else was ok.
