Product Description Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant "The Shack" wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!

The Shack November 23, 2008 Jennifer A. Enrile (Peoria, AZ USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read this book in 2 days. It would have been faster, but I had to sleep. br /It gave me so much to think about! I am buying a copy for friends and family at Christmas. I can't wait to "talk" about it. br /I first got it from the library, and loved it so much I bought it on Amazon so I could re-read it and highlight items. br /Weather you are secure in your convictions about religion, or not, this book is a must read!
Great Book, Excellent Seller! November 23, 2008 M. Bowers 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Shack is an absolutely life-changing book that is a great buy for anyone on your Christmas or birthday gift list. The seller shipped the book quickly, and it arrived in perfect condition!
The Shack November 23, 2008 Susan Wiens (Boulder, CO) This is one of those books that you will read over and over again. I ordered 10 books to give to friends and family. It is simple and yet so deep depending where you are in your relationship with God. It was recommended by our Pastor and I would highly recommend it. Be prepared to read parts over and over to "get it all". I took it on a vacation to Hawaii, sat by the pool and read the book. I couldn't put it down. I want all my friends to read it so that we can discuss it.

I cannnot say enough about the book. It was so inspiring. As I read the book I had a pad and pencil to write down some inspiring thoughts from the book.
Not impressed November 23, 2008 D. Nelson (Lawton, Oklahoma) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Having read the Book - The Shack - I have to admit that I was disappointed. br /After all of the hype concerning the fresh new approach I found the book to be a thinly veiled rehash of Catholic Doctrine. Mush of the content - whether you call it a parable or just pure fiction - was aimed at shoring up Faith Traditions that belong in the Middle ages not in the 21st century. br /I am no longer a devout follower. I am what some have called an alumni of the institutional Church. br /What this book didn't do for me was to inspire me or encourage me. As a retired ordained Minister of the Methodist Denomination I feel the Institutional Church is grasping at straws. This book is one more example of that grasping. The Shack
