4 out of 5 stars The drama picks up a bit over a werewolf vampire love triangle   December 1, 2008
Andrea E. Conrad (Houston, TX USA)
The novel keys up the romantic drama as werewolf Jacob and vampire Edward both fight over the same girl. There's a stark contrast between the smooth maturity of the much older vampires, and the young, rash and impetuous teenage werewolves but the object of their affection is the same. br / br /Bella winds up torn, wanting to be able to be just friends with Jake who obviously wants more, and desiring Edward the ultimate object of her heart's desire. She winds up hurting both men over and over again, much to her dismay as she is unwilling to cut either out of her life. br / br /Someone, something, is looking for Bella, and everyone's lives are in grave danger yet again. br / br /I don't know how this girl can do it. She manages to have to run for her life on a regular basis and still keeps up all the drama of a torn love life. br / br /I must say however, Bella's spunk had me laughing my head off with her reaction to a 'good natured' romantic assault by Jacob. br / br /The ending of this book is OVERLY Indulgent (not that I mind) playing to exactly what I wanted to see. So it's not something you want to miss if you're already a fan of the series. br / br /Highschool is rarely a thought any longer, and Bella does graduate during the book, so by this point there's a bit more maturity to the whole story. Again this book as the rest was a quick read, though thick, it's hard to put down, and it only took me about a day to finish the book. br / br /Here's an excerpt br / br /"But you are human, Bella. And as such as I might wish otherwise, so is he... There are holes in your life that I can't fill. I undestand that."

4 out of 5 stars Action-filled and entertaining- slight spoilers   December 1, 2008
Val (RI)
Pretty much everything is established when this book begins. We know exactly who and what the characters are, what they mean to each other, etc. You would think it might be a bit repetetive, but for the most part, it's not. br / br /You know Bella loves Edward and wouldn't even dream of anyone else, but it was nice to read of the Jacob/Edward rivalry. I do get a sense that they love her both, dearly, in their own way. And I did feel bad for Jacob throughout the book, knowing, without a doubt, that Bella was always going to choose Edward. I don't want to say she is 'blinded by love' or anything of the sort, but even if Edward bodily harmed her for whatever reason, she would still probably choose him over anyone in the world. br / br /There is a bit more action in this book as well. It is balanced quite nicely with some humour and romance as well as some much needed drama. Though this book, and its predecessors are geared more towards teenagers, at 25, I thoroughly enjoyed them as well, perhaps because I love the vampire genre and it was a nice little retreat. br / br /The book(s) are a quick read, nothing compared to reading the brilliant Anne Rice of course. br /If you want your vampires realistic, stylish and in character- read Anne Rice- there is no one that can do vampires like she can. But if you want to read a fun, quick engaging novel, then the Twilight series are perfect for that. Eclipse is probably my second favorite in the series after New Moon, and even the writing has improved with each new book. I really think it will appeal to many readers, not just the tweens.

5 out of 5 stars Twilite series!   December 1, 2008
Karen Kirkland (Georgia, USA)
You don't have to be a teenager to enjoy these books! My daughters 23, and 26, told me about them. I'm 52!

5 out of 5 stars Quite an Adventure   November 30, 2008
Caprii Love (Denton, TX USA)
Stephenie Meyer made a great recovery by writing this novel. br /In my opinion she saved twilight series just before they crashed and burned. New Moon was absolutely terrible. It was boring and extremely depressing, while Eclipse was much much better. It carried that fire and passion Twilight had, and made you keep wanting more. For those of you who are down about New Moon, please don't give up on the series because of it, Meyer makes up for it in this amazing novel.

5 out of 5 stars Worth the read   November 29, 2008
EL Inertia (East Hanover, NJ USA)
I would rate this one second best in the Twilight Series. I greatly enjoyed this one.
