Product Description He's the media's darling, the fresh face of the Democratic ticket. But what does Barack Obama really stand for--and will his extreme liberal agenda and complete inexperience in global affairs endanger the country? That's what David Freddoso, investigative reporter and National Review Online columnist, examines in The Case Against Barack Obama. In this shocking expose, Freddoso explores the reality behind the rhetoric, the plans behind the promises, and the faults behind the facade, revealing: * Why Obama's inexperience and extreme left-wing voting record is more dangerous than any threat we face today * Why the Rev. Wright debacle reveals Obama's poor judgment of character and deceitful nature * Why it won't be politics of change with President Obama--it will be liberal politics as usual Freddoso exposes the real Barack Obama: a typical big-government politician, the #1 most liberal U.S. senator, and--if he were commander in chief--a serious threat to our national security.

It was what I expected October 11, 2008 Maryann Willis (Fairbury, Nebraska) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I grew up in Illinois and have always been aware that the Chicago Politicians are the crookedest in the nation so this book only confirmed the fact that they still are. That is just what we don't need for a president!! How he has gotten this far in the election is totally beyond me.

a book all should read. exposes one who may end up as the leader of the free world. the most powerful man in the world. all should be aware of the way we as a country are being told as story that has been rewritten to change the facts of who this man is and where he comes from. my mother told me that i should be careful who i ran around with and associated with because you become who you associate and run around with.

This is a well researched work whose only flaws are its too moderate tone and incompleteness. It does not take a strong enough opposition to Obama for his support of the corrupt Mayor Daley (for those interested look up "Hired Truck Scandal"), his connection to William Ayers, or his association with Reverend Wright. Furthermore, this book leaves out two scandals that have recently come to light: Barack Obama's involvement with Raila Odinga and Obama's employment by ACORN---an organization that carries much of the blame for the current financial crisis. I will summarize both scandals here briefly, but I recommend that interested people look them up online. In 2006, Obama traveled to Kenya to help his cousin---Raila Odinga---campaign for that nations presidency: While some of Obama's actions may have violated the Logan Act (which forbids citizens from engaging in private diplomatic initiatives), that is not the real problem here; the points of concern lie in Odinga's party platform and in what happened after the election. Odinga sought to impose Sharia law (though probably not the most severe form), to kick out foreign investors, and to take back power from the Kikuyu who had been invested with power at the end of colonialism. While Obama's motives may have been motivated by concern for the disenfranchised, Odinga's radical and Marxist platform ought to have given him pause: Instead Obama wholeheartedly supported him. When Odinga lost the election, his supporters (very likely with Odinga's encouragement) rioted: displacing 600,000 people and killing 1,500. To have supported such a man is a sign of bad character. Obama also worked for ACORN, a group that has been accused of voter fraud and that played a significant role in the current subprime mortagage market. It was they who supported the strengthening of the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) during the Clinton administration, and it was they who forced banks to make risky loans by threatening non-compliant banks with law suits. In 1994, he represented them in one of these very law suits: Yet he wants to blame McCain for the current crisis. His party and his charity created this process long ago in the late 70's, and they sowed further seeds of it in the 90's. The above are perhaps two of the most damning criticisms of Obama I have yet heard, but neither is mentioned in this book. Given that the author is a conservative who seems to want to see Obama defeated (and rightfully so). missing these scandals is a serious problem. Beyond that, however, the book is clear, well-written, and readable. It is a worthwhile buy, and its tone is more reasonable (and likely to prove convincing) than that of Obamanation. Still, Odinga and ACORN deserved mention.
Another Neocon hatchet job.... October 7, 2008 Muckraker10 (Oak Park, Il USA) 3 out of 20 found this review helpful
These kinds of books always are published a month before national elections as though they represented some 'undiscovered truth' about a particular candidate. David Freddoso, a mouthpiece for the right-wing National (read that Nazi) Review wrote a book that is nothing more than a badly written hatchet job against Barack Obama, full of errors, distortions and smears. Bottom line: Freddoso simply fails to prove his primary assertions, preferring to rely upon a bunch of false attacks, a la Swift-Boat-Veteran style smear tactics with a twist McCarthyist inspired denunciations of Obama's associations. Throw in the usual extreme conservative attacks on abortion rights and stuff it with the usual facist banter on topics unrelated to Obama and his record and you have the typical 'conservative intellect' at work - an oxymoron if there ever was one. For example, Freddoso opens with an outrageous lie (which is repeated on the back cover). He states that Obama is "the least experienced politician in at least one hundred years to obtain a major party nomination for President...."(ix) Oh REALLY??? Did 'Frauddoso' forget that George W. Bush in 2000 had served only six years as governor prior to becoming President, whereas Obama sports 12 years of experience: eight years as an Illinois state senator and four as US senator?? By the way General Dwight David Eisenhower had NO political experience prior to becoming President of the US. Or are you Neocon pukes trying to rewrite history now?? If you are stupid enough to believe this drivel, you've got your head so far up your Republican behind, you think you're seeing daylight. You want some facts? John McCain was one of the Keating 5 and a major player in the S&L disaster of the 1980's (or are the Neocons attempting to rewrite that bit of history also?) John McCain has for over 15 years pushed for deregulation of the finance industry - a key reason for the current sub-prime mortgage and investment bank financial meltdown we now experience. REPUBLICANS WERE IN POWER AND PRESIDED OVER EVER MAJOR FINANCIAL DISASTER OF THE LAST 80 YEARS: 1929 - Herbert Hoover. Result: the Great depression early 1980's - Ronald Reagan. Result: S&L failure 2007-2008 - George W. Bush. Result: sub-prime mortgage and Wall Street investment bank failure. Only this time the cost of this $700B 'bailout' exceeds the cost of the prior 2 disasters combined. This represents a tax that will sink the middle class for good - a fundamental Neocon objective if there ever was one. A McCain presidency will insure the torture continues - and you can take that to the bank...
A REAL EYE OPENER TO DECEPTION October 7, 2008 Barbera N. Nix (Houston, Tx) 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have always had reservations about Obama from the very beginning. How could someone so unknown, so quickly rise to the position of running for President of the United States. This, within itself, raised great question. This is a book EVERYONE should read if you are truly concerned and interested in your safety and welfare for yourself and this country. You be the judge but I think it is unquestionable what this man's motive is.
