Product Description A rootless foster child, Julie Mathison had blossomed under the love showered upon her by her adoptive family. Now a lovely and vivacious young woman, she was a respected teacher in her small Texas town, and she passionately lived her ideals. Julie was determined to give back all the kindness she'd received; nothing and no one would ever shatter the perfect life she had fashioned. PZachary Benedict was an actor/director whose Academy Award-winning career had been shattered when he was wrongly convicted of murdering his wife. After the tall, ruggedly handsome Zack escaped from a Texas prison, he abducted Julie and forced her to drive him to his Colorado mountain hideout. She was outraged, cautious, and unable to ignore the instincts that whispered of his innocence. He was cynical, wary, and increasingly attracted to her. Passion was about to capture them both in its fierce embrace...but the journey to trust, true commitment, and proving Zack's innocence was just beginning....

I haven't finished Perfect yet . . . November 18, 2008 Shirley A. Million (Phoenix, AZ) So, I'm where Julie is getting off the plane in Mexico - weak Julie - I am so disappointed in her - I don't like weak women - I like a strong woman in love with strong man - no, I haven't finished the book but I can't contain my disappointment any longer. While I know it will end PLACIDLY because I have read later books where Julie and Zack are married and Zack is successful again and they are rich etc. etc. she basically is too WEAK for him - difficult for me to really like her - but I do love most of Judith's characters in her books - she is magical -- the broad penstrokes she devotes to each character. I love her dialogue. I know when I've finished the book I will like Julie OK and Love Zack - but, I don't think Julie deserves him - she is tooooo weak! AND, the reviewer woman who thinks Julie should love the FBI fink istead, does not understand romance - she should maybe read Nancy Drew! Don't stop writing Judith - I've just loved other books you've done and, I'm sure I will "soften" towards Julie as I finish Perfect.
One of JM's best October 19, 2008 NLC (SF, CA) I've read Perfect several times and it really is one of JM's best books. For contemporary romance, McNaught captures angst, inner turmoil, and conflict better than anyone else. Awesome. A must read after Paradise.
Not my cup of tea September 7, 2008 LTR (BC, Canada) I don't want to spend $20 on a brand new book when it might be total garbage. So when I finally purchased this book years later it seemed extremely dated. I don't want to hear about actors from the past who are no longer popular and I don't want to hear about bad fashion that I'd rather forget about. I cringed a lot throughout this book. This is the exact reason that I read historical fiction. br / br /Even if I could get past all of the cheesiness of this book it still would not be my cup of tea. The hero was the biggest jerk I've seen in a romance in a long, long time. Women do make seriously bad choices sometimes but I'd rather not read about it in my romances. Not recommended for any reason.
Pleasently Perfect August 7, 2008 Anna Springer (USA) Do yourself a favor and pick up this book... Absolute page turner... Not heavy stuff here so perfect for a beach read... So curl up, listen to the waves and enjoy... I liked this one so much that I am off to search for some more by this author...
This is going to be my favourite McNaught June 29, 2008 Kristina Polonyova (Banska Bystrica Slovakia) I have some thoughts I'd like to share with other readers of Perfect. br / br /First, there were times I didn't like Zachary at all. When I compare him to my other two favourites Judith's heroes - Clayton and Ian, whom I love from begining to end, I find something in Zack that bothers me. I don't know what it is, maybe his first name :-) br / br /Then, again something different comparing to Whitney and Almost heaven: I can't wait to see the hero and heroine together, and in Perfect they meet at page number 111, but, strange to me, I wasn't impatient. I enjoyed the way Zack was plannig to escape from prison and his dramatic way to achieve it and when Zack and Julie said good bye in Colorado, I again wasn't nervous, I was curious not only about their love-story, but as well about the detective plot. br / br /Next, I caught myself smiling when reading about Zack and Julie's play in snow. It was very sweet. br / br /And finally,( I don't know if anybody had noticed it too) I got the feeling that Zack was Ian Thornton's great-great grandson. Why? Look at his surname - Stanhope - Ian was the future Duke of Stanhope. Zack has Ian's amber eyes, Zack's sister name is Elizabeth - just like Ian's wife, and brother of Zack is called Alex - just like Ian's wife's best friend :-) br / br /I recommend.
