Much better than Born Free December 3, 2008 KidHorn (Maryland) I originally bought 10 born free bottles to feed our now 6 month old daughter. They were terrible. The vent system didn't work. I thought I would try the Dr Brown out since they are very inexpensive comparatively. Glad I did. These are made of cheaper material, but they work much better.
don't leak like Avent November 11, 2008 MR Dave (albany, ny) We were using AVENT bottles but they tended to be prone to leaking so my wife bought some of these. I don't see an decrease in the baby's gasiness or fussiness but I do say these bottles DON'T LEAK, and the nipple is narrower so the baby drools less when eating. So we have ditched the AVENT and switched to the Dr. Browns, plus they are MADE IN THE USA. The only flaw I see is that the once markings on the side are hard to read, we found one bottle where they were painted on and you could read them fine, the others are molded into the side of the bottle and are hard to read, especially at 3am feedings!!!!!!
Hard to read the oz markings October 30, 2008 Savvy Shopper (New Jersey) Awesome product for the most part, except the oz markings. Why don't they make them a little darker or paint them blue. Its hard to read them especially in the night.
Safe Plastic; Natural Flow; Easy to use/clean... September 14, 2008 David S. (USA) Yes, easy to use and clean. I know it has several parts but if you wash it right after the baby finished her bottle, you simply can rinse it in a warm/hot water and it's clean! If you don't wash it right away it's ok, use some warm/hot water, soap (I buy Planet or other mild soaps) and there are 3 holes in the vent part, brush them with a small brush 1-2 times.. is really easy especially after you do it a couple of times. br / br /The bottle is pretty thick but light. It seems strong and durable. br / br /Baby drinks with no interrupts. I like the natural flow feature of this bottle. If you use just nipple and bottle of other brand with no vent, it creates vacuum and your baby often stops many many times. I did not like that as she got tired faster and never finished her bottle and had to snack more often... br / br /The nipple is soft and it is standard. I like that it is soft breast like (so many other nipple seem so thick). We talked to 3 lactation consultants and they recommended Playtex Drop Ins (wide neck bottles) or in our case, our baby would only drink from Standard nipple/bottle, they always recommended Dr. Browns. So if these are the only 2 bottles I will buy for my children. br / br /I tried every bottle and nipple out there except Avent and Born Free (our lactation consultants really did not recommend them); mixed different bottles with nipples, inserted vent from Dr. Browns into different bottle when they didn't have the safe bottles yet and I was very happy to see these new Dr. browns bottles that are safe for my child. br / br /And one more thing. When we used OTHER bottles they were somewhat hard to wash. Bottles inside would be sticky and we had to brush them for a long time and rinse really well before they felt clean. I never had this problem with Dr. Browns bottles.
Just a hype September 13, 2008 K. Lim (Virginia Beach, VA) Baby is still gaseous. There is no noticeable different between the other baby bottles we have been using. Been using the bottles for about a month.
