Good, but not what I expect March 15, 2010 Noname Orville Redenbacher's Kettle Korn pops perfectly in the microwave. We used the popcorn setting in our microwave (despite recommendation on the packaging to avoid it) and every kernel popped without a single one scorched.
Although the flavor is good, the Kettle Korn is a little too buttery for a kettle corn flavor. I like my kettle corn lightly flavored with a hint of sweet (a la the classic but no longer available Boy Scout kettle corn) and this one is a little too strong for me. It's not bad at all, just not what I expect from kettle corn.
Leave out the sucralose March 13, 2010 Fred Camfield (Vicksburg, MS USA) The particular variety that I purchased contains sucralose. It gives the popcorn an odd, sweet flavor that I do not like. Not sure if this is in all their Kettle Korn, but you need to read the label carefully. The list of ingredients is in small print on one end. It does use palm oil as well as the sucralose.
What's better than a big bowl of popcorn? 36 bags!!! February 1, 2010 The_Soapster (OH) One thing about Amazon - you can buy in bulk without leaving home! What a great deal this was. Not often do I find Smart Pop in quantity. Amazon had it. I bought, it arrived in record time and I'm enjoying it.
Surcalose?! Awful tasting and NOT kettle corn. December 23, 2009 The Madras Bee 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product has that disgusting "aftertaste" that an artificial sweetener gives food. I didn't know it was in the popcorn, it is only listed in ingredients. Soon after eating, however, that nasty chemical aftertaste assaulted my taste buds.
This tastes nothing like kettle corn nor is it anything near what I call, "worth the calories". BTW, true kettle corn is made with what they call "mushroom popcorn".
Microwave Popcorn December 18, 2009 Sally Friedman (Los Angeles, CA United States) This is a great product at a super price! 99% of the kernals pop every time and the taste is wonderful. Love that it is low fat and still tastes great.
