Hurry and write more songs! November 9, 2008 Polly's Post Such a fun song! The whole family loves it! Great vocals, and I love how the song starts off with mainly the piano, then the band comes in with a fuller sound on the chorus. Fabulous!
Better than expected November 5, 2008 R. Moore (Plymouth, MA United States) Like many, I was impressed during the first few weeks of AI competition with this young man. Then came the disastrous Beatles week and his absolutely abhorrant interpretation of the simple but gorgeous Elvis Presley classic Love Me Tender. And it went downhill from there for me. Sugary sweet and about as edgy as a balloon. I'm certain that the right David won the compeition. br / br /That being said, Crush is a pretty good first single for this guy. I was not expecting something as catchy as this. No, it's not edgy or terribly exciting, but it sure isn't the melodramatic garbage he latched on to week after week on the show. It's surprisingly likable and I hope when he delivers a full album, he continues to have fun with tunes like this instead of trying to rip tears from my eyes. br / br /Good luck, David.
Love HIM!! November 3, 2008 Nicole Adamson (Washington) I LOVE David. He is an amazing singer and I love this song!!! Any Archie fan should get this!
A good start October 30, 2008 Carl Cunningham (MN, USA) Ok, this song is a good start for this talented young man. It is over-produced and no it doesn't fully showcase his vocals as well as it could. It does accomplishes a few things. 1. It proved the critics wrong, the ones who said David couldn't be marketable and current. 2. The song is well on it's way to going platinum, a major feat for any debuting artist. 3. And guess what? It isn't a ballad. Go figure. Crush is a good song for an up and coming artist.
Broken Crush October 25, 2008 Michael Kerner (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
For David Arculeta, the runner-up from American Idol this year who lost to David Cook, he hasn't actually been able to really deliver well, from the show, or on his own. Even a few years after he appeared on the short-lived revival on Star Search with Arsenio Hall, his feeling of his songs needs to be more than just a bubblegum pop sound. That is unfortunate with his latest single, Crush. The first post-American Idol single from David Archuleta, really doesn't feel like it sticks from the heart. I really didn't think it was a well-driven song, unlike former American Idol alumini Jennifer Hudson, who actually delivered well with Spotlight. Hopefully, when David does deliver his album, he can break out in a better position than flavor of the moment. br / br /Song: D
