5 out of 5 stars Odd mixture but good entertainment.   August 18, 2008

Its about the main character, Anna, in her point of view. She is the luckiest woman in the world. She has a loving husband, James, and wonderful home, and a life to live for. Suddenly James gets a phone call from an old pal named, Alex, from Singapore. His company was bought out and now he needs a place to crash so he can get his own company up and running. So James and Anna agreed. At first Anna doesn't really approve of the extra company. For one when James and Alex get together James starts acting unlike himself. But worst of all Alex becomes extremely attractive to Anna until they both hatch a plan to share her. But Anna starts wondering if there is something more to the both of them than just having alittle fun with her? br /I think this book was a cross between a threesome porn and a made up movie on Lifetime. An odd mixture of a woman dealing with her husband's weird antics, her families mishaps, and of course her own personal demons. I think this is a very good book to read and should be given a shot. br /

1 out of 5 stars So Disappointed!!   July 23, 2008

I've read two of Megan Hart's other books (Broken and Dirty) and really enjoyed them. I was excited and couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I was so disappointed. I'm taking my copy to the used bookstore for credit.

I loved this book; and simply could not put it down. I read the book in one reading staying up until 4:00 am to finish it. It's not typical erotica - it is so much more. I appreciate a book that can illustrate the complexities of life, love, and relationships and challenges you to evaluate your own relationships in life and why you make the decisions you make. br / br /some have mentioned the ending is unsatisfactory. The problem really is that these readers don't want to face the fact that often life is unsatisfactory and there isn't always an easy answer, or neat wrap-up to lifes trials and tribulations. There is not always a happily ever after ending in life; so why shouldn't a book mirror reality? This book illustrates the complexities of relationships and the unforseen consequences of the decisions that we make. It's messy and it's painful and there are no clear cut answers to the dilemma that these three characters find themselves in. There was just no way for everyone to be happy at the end of this story. In fact, no one was happy. There were no winners. Both a long term friendship and a marriage were irreparably damaged by the consequences of the decisions these three people made. As the story unfolds, we see how other relationships in these characters pasts have affected how they currently view and handle relationships. We understand why they make the decisions they make in the end, and we sympathise and ache for each one of them. This book is master storytelling at its best! If you want a clean, neat, happily ever after book, read Cinderella.

1 out of 5 stars Vulgar Waste Of Time   June 29, 2008

This is my second attempt to review this book. My first one was removed. I'm not sure why. I gave it a one star and only gave the first initial of word that was used repeatedly in this book (6th letter of the alphabet). I guess they didn't like the fact that I told it like it was. No other adjectives were used to describe their act, their thoughts or their casual conversation. That 4 letter word was the only word this author used. I was tired of hearing it (audio book). This is not good writing at all. br / br /The best part of the book was the ending because I was finally able to get the junk off my Ipod. br / br /Childishly written. br / br /A BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!!

4 out of 5 stars A Sexy Sad Truth   June 18, 2008

I was hooked by the very first scene and had to see what would come of Alex's phone call revealing his soon-to-be arrival home. I felt besides the erotic scenes, which were very fun and descriptive, Hart put the characters together very well. Life isn't all butterflies and she created plenty of conflict within her characters to make it real. However, I do find it hard to believe that every single character had a different problem: love triangle, homosexuality, gambling addictions, pregnancy, affairs, alcoholism... while I felt the characters were very in depth, it was almost over the top and the book became almost deflating at some points with all the issues going around. Also, I felt Jamie's private issues with Alex went unresolved or untold. Besides these two things, I liked the ending. While normally I like a happily-ever-after to lift the spirits, life isn't always like that and I believed the book ended like it should (even though I was sympathetic for Alex who ends up alone). I'm glad Anne found her sense of self, and she knows its up to her to make the best of what she has. Not everyone is meant to live in a perfect menage-a-trois. Ah, well.
