Miami University reports more students are filing for financial aid. In what appears to be another sign of tough economic times, aid filings are up three-percent over last year and five-percent over the year before.

Northwestern might see more financial aid requests next year, but two new programs announced Spring Quarter should help students in need, administrators said.
